Thornveil Harness

Created by Bobbyx

The Thornveil Harness is a masterwork set of reinforced leather and dark steel plates, forged in the deepest Stouthammer vaults and bound with living thorn-runes that writhe with subtle arcane energy. The armor displays a matte black-green coloration with shifting patterns that resemble tangled briars and thorny vines crawling across its surface. When the wearer remains still or moves with deliberate quiet, the surface darkens further and the outlines of the plates seem to blur seamlessly against stone and shadow, granting advantage on Stealth checks made while the wearer is motionless or moving at a careful pace. The living runes embedded within the armor provide a measure of protection against nature's wrath, granting resistance to poison damage. Additionally, whenever a creature within 5 feet of the wearer hits it with a melee attack, that creature takes 1d4 piercing damage from the armor's thorny manifestations. The Thornveil Harness requires attunement and can only be worn by those of good or neutral alignment, as the living runes reject those with purely malevolent intent. This armor is considered heavy armor with an AC of 16, though it does not impose disadvantage on Stealth checks due to its supernatural design. The thorn-runes glow faintly with an emerald light when activated, allowing the wearer to see in dim light as if it were bright light for 60 feet.
