Biography
In the forgotten epoch before mortals learned to speak, the Alremintas were birthed from the collective shame and vanity of a fallen civilization—entities woven from the discarded masks that tyrants wore to hide their true nature. They exist in the liminal spaces between reflection and reality, drawn inexorably toward those who have built their identities upon deception and false facades. According to fragmented texts discovered in crumbling libraries, the Alremintas do not kill their victims in any traditional sense; rather, they consume the social masks people have constructed, leaving behind hollow shells who cannot recognize themselves in any reflection. Those who encounter them are left with an existential horror worse than death—stripped of the carefully curated personas that defined their place in society, they wander as empty vessels, speaking in disjointed whispers of the faces they once wore. The creatures are said to multiply wherever pride flourishes unchecked and where ambition demands the wearing of false identities, making them harbingers of moral reckoning in cities built on lies. Some scholars theorize the Alremintas are not truly evil, but rather cosmic balancers—nature's way of punishing those who forget their authentic selves in pursuit of power and prestige.
