Archbishop Zane Ulta

Archbishop Zane Ulta was born into a merchant family in the outer provinces, where her younger brother showed an early affinity for arcane studies—a gift the family initially celebrated until the Malcorian inquisitors arrived at their door. Witnessing her brother's execution as a heretic and her parents' imprisonment for harboring a spellcaster shattered something fundamental within her soul, transforming her grief into righteous fury and an absolute conviction that magic itself was a plague upon the world. She threw herself into the Malcorian faith with zealous intensity, rising through the ranks with an iron will and strategic brilliance that caught the attention of the Movement's elder council, who saw in her a leader capable of uncompromising devotion. Now, as the elected Archbishop, Zane has orchestrated more than half of the brutal annual cleansings, personally overseeing the systematic hunt and elimination of anyone who dares to wield arcane power, viewing each execution as both divine justice and personal redemption for her family's shame. Her unwavering belief that she alone understands the true scope of magic's corruption has made her increasingly isolated even within the Movement, as some whisper that her crusade has become less about faith and more about exorcising the ghosts of her past. Yet Zane remains steadfast in her conviction, interpreting any doubt as weakness and leading her devoted followers forward with the certainty of one who has already sacrificed everything to her cause.
