Born beneath the towering cypress trees of the jungle that shares its name, Arden grew up listening to whispered tales of Floroar, a legendary manticore whose jade likeness stood eternal in the mystical Verdant Cove—a place few mortals had ever glimpsed and fewer still had returned from unchanged. His amethyst eyes, flecked with the green of the jungle canopy itself, seemed to mark him as someone touched by the forest's ancient magic, a sign that drove his obsession with poison craft from childhood onward. Each day, he ventures deeper into the humid undergrowth to study the toxic blooms and venomous creatures, extracting their essences and weaving them into spells that grow increasingly sophisticated with every passing season. The other jungle dwellers regard him with a mixture of respect and wariness, for his mastery over toxins and venom has become nearly supernatural, as if the jungle itself feeds his ambitions. Arden believes that only by perfecting his deadly art can he prove himself worthy in Floroar's eyes—that the manticore will emerge from legend to acknowledge him as a true child of the cypress realm. As a reaction, Arden can grant an ally within 30 ft. a +2 bonus to their AC until the start of his next turn.

Manticore's Call

Once per long rest, Arden can attempt to summon Floroar. Roll a d20; on a 15 or higher, Floroar appears to assist Arden for 1 minute.

Jungle's Embrace

Arden has advantage on stealth checks in jungle terrain.

Toxic Mastery

Arden's poison spells deal an additional 1d6 poison damage.
