Coren Sakustorme

Born under a blood moon that cast impossible shadows across his village, Coren discovered as a child that he could see the threads of magic woven through light itself—a rare gift that manifested as an innate understanding of how arcane forces bent and shaped the world around him. When a plague of uncontrolled shadow-creatures began consuming the borderlands, spreading darkness that no conventional weapon could pierce, the scholarly sorcerer realized that these beings existed in the spaces between light and dark, their forms anchored to the very geometry of shadows cast by the sun and stars. He joined the Longing Warriors, an order devoted to restoring balance to fractured realities, and developed his unique craft: surveying shadow-patterns with meticulous precision, using his silver-rod tripod to measure and map the invisible boundaries where these creatures could manifest. Now, with his weathered brimmed hat and careful methodology, Coren moves from town to town under the guise of a mundane surveyor, issuing construction permits and safety ordinances that are actually carefully calculated barriers of light and geometry designed to keep shadow-entities at bay. His lawful approach to chaos—treating magical catastrophe with the same systematic care as a city planner—has saved countless lives without ever requiring him to throw a destructive spell. Each measurement he takes is a prayer, and every shadow he traces is a promise that darkness will not claim the world while he still draws breath.
