Biography
Born to a merchant family in a coastal city, Corina Juliet discovered her extraordinary gift of duplication entirely by accident when, in a fit of frustrated impatience during her coming-of-age ceremony, she inadvertently created a perfect copy of herself—a moment that both thrilled and terrified her guardians. Rather than report the incident to the magistrate as custom demanded, the ambitious young woman recognized the untapped potential of her power and began secretly practicing in the shadowed corners of her family's estate, crafting elaborate paintings by day while her duplicates worked behind closed doors to forge documents and manipulate the city's trade ledgers. Her sneaky nature flourished as she orchestrated increasingly bold schemes to elevate her family's standing, using her copies to attend multiple high-society gatherings simultaneously and cultivate relationships with influential nobles. However, her relentless hunger for power and status has begun to fracture her sense of self, as she struggles to remember which version of Corina harbors her true ambitions and which are merely echoes of her original hunger. Now, at the threshold of womanhood, she stands at a crossroads between embracing the dark potential of her gift and confronting the dangerous consequences of her deception. Her paintings have begun to depict strange, fragmented versions of herself, each one wearing an expression of hunger that grows more unsettling with every brushstroke.
