Elara Ashveil

Born of forbidden union between an elven diplomat and a demon lord who conquered her homeland, Elara was conceived not from love but from conquest—a living treaty meant to seal an uneasy peace that ultimately crumbled into ash. Raised in the suffocating halls of Gehenna's court, she learned early that her hybrid nature made her simultaneously invaluable and disposable; her very existence was a negotiating chip, passed from one political schemer to another like a priceless artifact with no say in its own fate. The betrothal to Prince Tagger was supposed to be her final placement, a crown jewel in a calculated alliance, yet it became the catalyst for her awakening to her own agency when she realized her sharp instinct for reading others' desires could be weaponized for her own liberation. Her cautious bond with Talon, Tagger's shape-shifting sibling, offered her first glimpse of genuine connection—someone who existed between worlds as she did, neither fully one thing nor another—though trust came slowly when surrounded by those who saw her only as a tool. Beneath her composed exterior and carefully curated kindness lies a calculating mind that has spent years mapping the weaknesses and ambitions of every court member, gathering secrets like a spider weaves silk, preparing for the moment she could finally choose her own destiny. Elara understands that in the deadly game of succession swirling around the throne, she could be either the sacrifice that ensures another's victory or the architect of her own freedom—and she has grown tired of being anyone's pawn.
