Elowercrest

Elowercrest was born in the Luminescent Marshes as a peculiar mutation—a tadpole that absorbed the crystalline essence of a shattered amethyst meteor, transforming into something neither fully amphibian nor entirely natural. Unlike their siblings who subsisted on insects and algae, Elowercrest developed an insatiable hunger for larger prey, discovering that consuming intelligent creatures granted them heightened cunning and shadowy abilities that seemed to blur the line between predator and phantom. Adopted by the Council of Light Monsters—beings who believed that all creatures, regardless of appetite or morality, deserved a place in their ranks—Elowercrest learned to use stealth and deception rather than brute force to survive, becoming a mercenary of sorts within their fractured alliance. The gelatinous exterior that makes them so distinctive serves as both camouflage and a weapon, allowing them to slip through tight spaces and suffocate prey with a glutinous embrace that leaves no trace. Despite their monstrous nature and indifference to the suffering of others, Elowercrest maintains a strange code of honor, never hunting those who offer tribute or service, though their definition of acceptable payment remains disturbingly flexible. The frog's androgynous form has made them invaluable as a spy and infiltrator, able to move through societies unnoticed until the moment they strike. Now, Elowercrest dwells at the intersection of shadow and light, a creature that embodies the uncomfortable truth that even monsters can find sanctuary, provided they prove their usefulness to those powerful enough to protect them.
