Biography
Born to the last true lineage of the Obsidian Veil—a legendary order of shadow-walkers who once guarded the dimensional rifts between worlds—Halric was spirited away as an infant when his clan was systematically hunted to extinction by a cosmic entity that fed on their essence, leaving him the sole survivor hidden in a remote Himalayan sanctuary where monks who existed between light and shadow raised him in silence and solitude. Trained from childhood in disciplines that defied conventional physics, Halric's body and spirit were shaped to move through the void itself, his martial prowess becoming so refined that gravity itself seemed to bend around his movements, yet this mastery came at a terrible cost: each technique he perfected required him to sever another thread of human connection, trading empathy for precision. Haunted by fragmented memories of a family he never knew and marked by the shadow-sickness that caused his skin to burn beneath direct sunlight, he interpreted his isolation as enlightenment rather than trauma, weaving his pain into riddles and cryptic wisdom that only deepened the chasm between himself and those who tried to reach him. When the Star Vipers recruited him, Halric saw not a team but a collection of obstacles to navigate around, viewing each mission as another step toward the untouchable perfection he believed would finally ease the ache of his solitude. What he did not yet understand was that his greatest adversary was not the darkness he commanded, but the darkness he had allowed to consume his own heart—and that true strength might require breaking the very silence that had kept him alive.
