Kaela Emberborn

Born in the shadow of Emberhold's obsidian walls during a catastrophic volcanic tremor, Kaela was marked by fate when molten stone claimed her mother's life while protecting her newborn daughter—a sacrifice that forged the commander's unshakeable resolve to shield others from similar tragedy. Raised by the fortress's master-at-arms, she learned that true strength came not from dominion but from duty, ascending through the ranks with unwavering discipline and tactical brilliance until she claimed command of the guard at an unprecedented age. For two decades, she maintained an iron peace across the mountain kingdom, her reputation as a fair yet formidable warrior spreading through every garrison and settlement under Emberhold's protection. When strange elemental disturbances began tearing through the fortress's foundations—scorching stone, freezing watchtowers, and shaking the very bedrock beneath their feet—Kaela's military instincts screamed that no natural force was responsible, driving her to investigate the ancient secrets buried beneath her home. The discovery of the Star Shards confirmed her darkest suspicions, revealing that something far more sinister than bandits or rival kingdoms threatened everything she had sworn to defend. Now, with the Herald's influence spreading like wildfire through the realm, Kaela stands at a crossroads between the rigid protocols of her order and the desperate need for unconventional allies to save her people.
