Biography

Kodo emerged from the Verdant Shroud—an ancient mist-laden valley where the spirits of thunder and earth first mingled—as a gift to the proto-Taurehe people who had wandered lost and starving through hostile lands. According to the oral histories passed down through generations, Kodo was the first of their kind to accept the bond of companionship, teaching the Taurehe through patience and example that true strength comes not from dominion, but from mutual respect and shared purpose. When the original Kodo finally returned to the spirit realm after centuries of faithful service, the Taurehe discovered that their beloved companion had left behind a legacy written into the very blood of their offspring—each new generation born with an innate understanding of the sacred covenant between beast and handler. The thunder that accompanies their herds is said to be Kodo's ancestral voice calling across the grasslands, a reminder to all who hear it that these magnificent creatures are custodians of an ancient pact, never to be exploited but forever honored as kin and carriers of the spiritual bond that sustains the Taurehe people. To this day, each individual Kodo is named in honor of that first legendary companion, and the herds continue their eternal vigil across the verdant plains, steadfast in their role as both provider and protector of those who walk beside them with reverence.
