Biography
Mira was born in a prison tower, the illegitimate daughter of an elven diplomat and a human jailer who fell in love across the bars meant to keep them apart. Raised in the shadowed corridors of that fortress, she learned that every lock tells a story of someone's mistake, and every key holds the possibility of redemption rather than escape. When she came of age, the warden—her father—was executed for helping prisoners flee, and Mira inherited his most precious possession: a mysteriously ancient key that seemed to know which locks it belonged to, growing warm and light only when placed in hands desperate enough to deserve a second chance. She left that tower vowing never to judge the imprisoned or the free, instead dedicating herself to the service of a forgotten deity of thresholds and transformation, becoming a cleric whose sacred duty was to unlock doors—literal and figurative—for those society had already condemned. Now she travels with worn leather apron and weathered hands, never asking why someone needs a lock opened, only observing the weight in their heart to determine if they deserve the key's aid. Her half-elven nature allows her to move between worlds as she does between locked and unlocked spaces, forever the bridge between captivity and freedom. Those who find her often leave with more than an opened door; they leave with the knowledge that someone, somewhere, still believed they were worth saving.
