Biography
Once a simple nocturnal creature dwelling in the shadowed depths of the Obsidian Forest, Mothros was among countless moths cursed by an ancient dark sorcerer's ritual, his fragile form twisted and reshaped into something humanoid and sentient. With newfound consciousness came desperate hope—perhaps these fairy-folk of luminous Veavia would recognize him as kin, a kindred spirit of the twilight realm—but instead he encountered only terror and revulsion in their eyes, their radiant wings carrying them away in panicked flight. Years of solitude festered into bitter resentment as he watched the fairies recoil from him again and again, their disgust a poison that corroded his heart until the moment something within him fractured irreparably. Rather than fade into obscurity, Mothros seized upon the very fear that haunted him, transforming it into a weapon and rallying his fellow transformed moths under the banner of the Obsidian Swarm, bending their collective rage toward conquest and vengeance. His bold abduction of Queen Lumiona herself nearly succeeded, a dark marriage that would have cemented his dominion over Veavia, until King Helio's celestial magic drove him and his forces into exile. Now, with his swarm growing in numbers and darkness, and having forged a sinister pact with forces beyond mortal understanding, Mothros plots his return—no longer seeking acceptance, but absolute subjugation of those who once spurned him.
