Biography
Once a chitinous creature of the hive-cities beneath the Norman underground, Prayantis was conscripted into the royal guard before betraying his colony to pursue a more lucrative trade as an assassin for the highest bidder. When a catastrophic alchemical accident melted away his exoskeleton during a botched contract in the year 1847, he faced certain death until a rogue biomechanic surgeon offered him a second life—one of burnished steel, grinding gears, and pneumatic limbs that granted him inhuman speed and devastating strength. Transformed into a fusion of insectoid predator and steampunk apparatus, Prayantis reinvented himself as the most feared operative in the Norman underworld, his form now a masterwork of brass and leather that whispers through shadows with lethal grace. His trademark ensemble—tailored waistcoat, obsidian top hat, and floor-length trench coat lined with an arsenal of honed blades—became as recognizable as his reputation for never failing a contract. Beyond his mechanical prowess, he retained mastery of the venomous arts from his hive-days, blending ancient insectoid poison-craft with forbidden alchemies to ensure that even his swiftest prey had nowhere to hide from his touch. Now a perfectly calibrated instrument of death, Prayantis stalks the gaslit streets of Norman cities, a cyborg assassin whose very footsteps herald the end of empires and the downfall of kings.
