Biography

The Revenant Rangers were once a elite cadre of wilderness warriors, guardians of the ancient forests and mountainous realms. Imbued with a preternatural connection to the land, they stalked their prey with the grace of spectres, their keen senses piercing the veil of darkness. In life, they were masters of tracking, their footsteps leaving no trace, their arrows striking with unerring precision. But a great betrayal saw them cut down in their prime, their mortal forms succumbing to the ravages of battle. Yet, even in death, their spirits refused to be extinguished, bound to the very landscapes they had sworn to protect. Now, their ghostly forms drift through the mists, vigilant sentinels ever-watchful for those who would despoil the realms entrusted to their eternal care, their spectral arrows ready to rain down swift justice upon the unwary.

Actions

Spectral Bow Attack

Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 150/600 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage. On a hit, the target must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be marked, granting advantage on attacks against it until the end of the Revenant Ranger's next turn.

Phantom Arrow Barrage

The Revenant Ranger fires three spectral arrows at different targets within 150 feet. Each arrow is a ranged attack with a +8 to hit. On a hit, each arrow deals 10 (1d10 + 5) piercing damage. If a target is marked, it takes an additional 5 (1d10) necrotic damage.

Ethereal Step

As a bonus action, the Revenant Ranger can shift into the Ethereal Plane until the start of its next turn. While in the Ethereal Plane, it can move through objects and creatures as if they were difficult terrain.

Guiding Presence

As an action, the Revenant Ranger can choose up to three allies within 60 feet. Those allies gain advantage on their next attack roll or saving throw before the end of the Revenant Ranger's next turn.

Spectral Ambush

If the Revenant Ranger is hidden from a target, it can make a surprise attack. On a successful hit, the target takes an additional 14 (4d6) psychic damage and must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or be frightened until the end of its next turn.
