Rhoses

Rhoses was once a being of considerable renown, though every record of their existence has been systematically erased from the world's archives—their name struck from histories, their visage removed from portraiture, their deeds buried beneath layers of deliberate forgetting. What remains is only the entity itself: a creature capable of observing through stone and marble, able to track prey across vast distances by animating the very statues that populate cities and temples. Some whisper that Rhoses was punished for witnessing something forbidden, transformed into this surveillance-bound form as both curse and cage, forced to perceive the world only through the unblinking eyes of monuments. Others suggest the erasure was mercy, that whatever Rhoses became demanded to be forgotten, lest its true nature drive mortals to madness. The ability to manipulate roots and slice through earth suggests an ancient connection to primordial forces, perhaps a being that once walked between the living world and something far older. Rhoses can animate a statue within 60 feet to act as a scout. The statue can move and relay information back to Rhoses. This lasts for 1 hour.

Clasp

Rhoses can grasp a target within 10 feet, dealing 3d8 bludgeoning damage and restraining them until the end of their next turn. A DC 15 Strength check can free the target.

Root Slice

Rhoses can create a wave of roots in a 30-foot line, dealing 4d6 slashing damage to all creatures in the area. A DC 16 Dexterity saving throw halves the damage.

Eternal Watch

Rhoses can choose to become a statue for up to 24 hours, gaining immunity to all damage and becoming invisible. They can end this effect at will.

Statue Surveillance

Rhoses can see through any statue within 100 feet as if it were their own eyes.

Root Connection

Rhoses can sense the presence of living beings within 60 feet through roots.
