Ruby

Created by Devasticus

In the year of 1348, when the Black Death ravaged the villages of medieval England, a young woman named Ruby practiced witchcraft in desperate attempts to save her plague-stricken community. Her spells and incantations promised salvation but delivered only false hope, and when the townspeople discovered her heretical practices, they dragged her to the flames. Rather than face the pyre, Ruby's soul was claimed by infernal forces, dragged screaming into the abyss where she was systematically broken down and reconstructed as something far more sinister. Under the cruel dominion of Tamara and eventually Lucifer's lieutenant Lilith, she spent centuries as a servant-demon, losing piece after piece of her mortal conscience with each passing year. When the Winchesters' battle with Azazel shattered the barriers between worlds, Ruby seized the opportunity to escape her eternal torment, recognizing in the brothers a chance for something she thought lost forever—redemption. Emerging topside with her enchanted demon-killing blade, Ruby presented herself to Sam and Dean as an unlikely ally against the very forces that had enslaved her, though her methods proved as ruthless and morally questionable as her demonic nature demanded. Her sharp tongue and willingness to sacrifice the innocent for the greater good made her difficult to trust, yet her unwavering commitment to saving Dean from his infernal debt and destroying Lilith proved her claims of loyalty were genuine. Chuck the narrator and God of this universe originally had other plans in store for her, I nature dark, hopeless, evil and ultimately being cruel to her tormented soul, which was still clearly visible under all this harsh, rude, selfish and nihilistic behavior. But, just in the very most deciding moment, it turned out, that somebody had changed the way her story had to follow, ultimately turning not only her and those fates of the Winchester brothers, but together with them, the very timeline of the whole supernatural universe! Because right after Lilith was dead, as Ruby began to shed the callous armor forged over centuries in hellfire and spent more time among the brothers, —particularly growing closer to Sam, —Ruby discovered that beneath the sarcasm and hardened warrior's exterior of her, lay fragments of the desperate girl who once sought to save lives.. Her journey from damned witch to unlikely savior remained incomplete, a slow, painful process of reclaiming her lost humanity one day at a time, proving that even those born from darkness could choose to walk toward the light. But with time, her new comrades grew into friends and helped her carry on, just like the wayward daughter she had become, having been ever a cruel twist of fate in her times, now to be corrected by an author, observer and God, more patient, humble and compassionate then chuck..
