Seris Veyra

Born as the unwanted half-blood daughter of a human scholar and a tiefling courtesan in the shadow of the Grand Archives, Seris learned early that knowledge was the only currency that could never be stolen from her. When the Archives burned under mysterious circumstances—a conflagration she later discovered was orchestrated by a cabal seeking to suppress dangerous texts—she made a pact with an otherworldly entity that whispered promises of forbidden wisdom, trading her future servitude for the arcane power to uncover what others had tried to bury. Her violet eyes became windows to that bargain, glowing whenever she channeled the warlock's eldritch gifts, and she spent decades assembling her own cadre of adventurers, bound not by honor but by shared ambition and carefully rationed secrets. The Star Shards called to her with an irresistible pull that she interpreted as destiny rather than manipulation, their legendary power promising answers to questions about her patron's true nature and the original cause of the Archives' destruction. She moves through the world as a calculating predator wrapped in charisma, offering cooperation to those foolish enough to believe she won't abandon them the moment their usefulness expires, secure in the knowledge that her thirst for dangerous truths makes her either the most invaluable ally or the most lethal enemy any adventurer could encounter.
