Biography
Shinrō was born beneath the emerald canopy of the Verdant Sanctuary, the runt of a litter blessed by Midoriryū's ancient magic—a gift that granted his kind not merely survival instinct, but true comprehension and emotional depth. While his siblings grew content within their pack's traditional hunting grounds, Shinrō's curiosity drew him to the forest's edges, where he observed the Kurogane people and learned their ways through patient watching and listening. A wandering ranger of the Shinrinsei Clan discovered him injured from a poacher's trap and, rather than forcing aid upon him, left carefully prepared sustenance and departed in silence—a gesture that kindled something profound in Shinrō's heart. When he recovered and found the ranger again, he lowered his great green-furred head in acceptance, choosing partnership over solitude for the first time. Together they have roamed the borderlands between civilization and wilderness, Shinrō serving not as a subordinate beast but as an equal companion, using his keen senses and forest knowledge to protect the vulnerable and challenge those who would exploit the Sanctuary's gifts. His neutral conviction stems from witnessing both the beauty and brutality of nature and society alike, driving him to intervene only when the scales of justice tip too far toward suffering. Shinrō remains forever independent—no command compels him, no chain binds him—yet he returns again and again to the side of the one who respected his freedom enough to earn his trust. {Shinrō (森狼), meaning “Forest Wolf,” are a unique species of intelligent, non-humanoid wolves native to the Verdant Sanctuary of the Kurogane Shogunate.
