Biography
In the waning years of the Third Age, a promising young orc named Silver Blade suffered a catastrophic magical affliction during a ritual blessing that left him conscious yet entirely unreachable—his mind shattered into fragments scattered across the Ethereal Plane. His mother, Grukka the Unbreakable, refused to accept the healers' grim pronouncements and instead sought out Malachai Ironweaver, a reclusive artificer whose pacts with entities beyond mortal ken had made him both legendary and feared. Through a harrowing process that cost the old craftsman dearly, Malachai forged a sentient blade of purest silver and bound it to the orc's very essence, creating a living conduit through which an external consciousness could puppeteer the vacant body with terrible precision and grace. For over a century, the sword has served as Silver Blade's voice, his strategist, and the phantom limbs of a mind that exists nowhere and everywhere at once, whispering commands that transform the massive orc into a weapon of balletic lethality. The blade itself has grown weary and philosophical through its long servitude, speaking in measured tones that belie the cosmic horror of their arrangement, while the orc's body—frozen eternally at the threshold of middle age—bears the accumulated scars of a hundred years of warfare that his absent consciousness will never remember. Should the sword ever be parted from his grip, the fragile architecture of their shared existence would collapse in an instant, leaving behind only an empty shell that breathes but dreams nothing. Thus they persist together, an inseparable monument to maternal devotion and the terrible prices one pays for defying death itself.
