Born in the shadow of the Ibalon volcano where thermal vents crack the earth like veins of molten blood, Silyaw emerged from a clutch of eggs nestled in the warmest springs, her charcoal hide hardened by the intense heat and her crimson horn already sharp with the accumulated essence of a thousand spicy berries. Unlike her more docile herd-mates who grazed peacefully in the lowlands, Silyaw possessed an untamed spirit that drove her to venture deeper into the volcanic jungle, where she consumed the region's most potent peppers and developed a fierce, protective nature against those who would threaten the delicate balance of her homeland. Her horn became a repository of natural fire and stored spice, glowing white-hot with rage whenever predators encroached upon her territory, and she learned to share her warmth with lost travelers who stumbled into the cold mountain nights, pressing her burning body against their shivering forms as an act of unexpected compassion. The locals came to revere her as a guardian spirit—neither purely wild nor tamed, but something in between—recognizing that her aggressive defense of the volcanic ecosystem masked a heart devoted to protecting the vulnerable. When a trainer arrived seeking a partner to face the trials of the Ibalon region, Silyaw chose them not out of submission, but as an equal ally in a greater purpose, her neutrality rooted in a deep understanding that strength must serve something beyond oneself. {Fire Starter: Silyaw (The Chili Calf Pokémon). A blend of sili (the famous, spicy Bicolano bird's eye chili / siling labuyo) and kalaw (the iconic Bicolano hornbill bird) or yaw (from karabaw / water buffalo). It is the fire starter Pokémon that represents the Ibalon region. It is a fiery water buffalo calf. A small, charcoal-furred water buffalo calf with a bright crimson, chili-shaped horn on its head. It is a pure Fire-type. It loves grazing near the thermal vents of the volcano. When it gets excited or aggressive, its chili horn glows white-hot, and sparks fly from its hooves. Its final evolution becomes a massive, armor-plated Fire/Steel ramming beast covered in hardened volcanic stone. When it sees its Pokémon Trainer shiver from the cold nights of the Ibalon region, it snuggles to the side of the sleeping Pokémon trainer to keep it warm. It dips its small horns on a bowl filled with water to make the water taste like chili peppers for spicy dipping sauces or spicy marinating sauces. It loves eating the spicy berries in the Ibalon region and the spicy part of the berries would accumulate on its horns as a defence mechanism against predators in the jungle. Therefore, if ever a Pokémon Trainer accidentally touches the small horns of a cute Silyaw, they would have to drink water because the stored spices paces through the skin and also a cold water bath because the hand would have a burning sensation. For the locals, they can easily get used to the Silyaw's spicy horns.} Character details: Class - Barbarian, Alignment - Neutral Good. Note: I like the world of Pokémon a lot. It's just that back then, I didn't thought about where the food comes from if every animal in that world are Pokémons. In my case, I'd stop thinking about lugaw and pares which are 2 types of Filipino beef stews. I'd only eat taho for my protein intake if I was in a Pokémon world. I'd also miss eating sushi as well. Silyaw is number 4 in the Ibalon regional Pokédex.
