Biography
Thorn Blackwood was born in the shadow of the Obsidian Peaks, where his mother served as a cartographer for the royal expeditions and his father was a gamekeeper who taught him to read the language of the wild before he could read proper words. When a plague swept through the kingdom, his parents were among the first to fall, and the young Thorn was taken in by the Ranger's Guild—an order dedicated to protecting the realm's borders and uncovering its forgotten secrets. For years he honed his skills in tracking and survival, becoming renowned for his ability to find what others deemed lost, but a cryptic prophecy whispered by a dying oracle in a village tavern changed everything: she spoke of a God-King's tomb that held the cure to a curse spreading across the land. Desperate to prove himself worthy and driven by the ghost of his parents' memory, Thorn accepted a contract to scout the treacherous path to the ancient burial ground, never imagining he would need to recruit fellow adventurers to survive what lay within its cursed halls. It was his reconnaissance that first led the party to the tomb's entrance, though none of them could have foreseen the horrors—and wonders—that awaited them in those shadowed chambers. Now bound by fate and circumstance, Thorn guides his companions through the God-King's domain, his ranger's instincts the only thing standing between them and oblivion.
