Tokihiro Shoto

Born during a rare celestial eclipse that painted the sky crimson, Tokihiro Shoto was marked from birth as one touched by fate—his mother, a shrine priestess, recognized the golden threads that would later weave through his raven hair as a sign of divine blessing. Raised in the martial monasteries of the Torri kingdom alongside orphaned children of fallen warriors, he learned that true strength came not from dominance but from protecting those who could not protect themselves, a philosophy that set him apart from other nobles groomed for power. When the previous emperor fell to a wasting curse, the kingdom's warlords turned to combat trials to determine the rightful successor, and the young Tokihiro's unmatched skill with the naginata—a weapon he had crafted himself from meteorite iron and blessed wood—carried him to an unprecedented victory that united the fractured realm. His ascension at merely twenty-three years old seemed impossible until witnesses testified that during the final battle, golden light had surrounded him, lending credence to whispers that the eclipse-born child was the kingdom's salvation incarnate. Now, at twenty-six and standing as a beacon of hope, Tokihiro rules with a warrior's discipline and a monk's compassion, using his immense power to quell bandits, mediate disputes between clans, and restore the Torri kingdom to an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity. Yet he remains haunted by a single mystery: the curse that killed his predecessor has never been fully explained, and he suspects darker forces still lurk in the shadows of his empire, waiting to test his resolve once more.
