Character

Umdas, The Patron Of Giants

Created by MizzyoftheFrost

In the early ages of Rathoi when the world was still soft and malleable, Umdas emerged from the collision of storm clouds and mountain stone, a being so vast that his first footsteps carved the valleys that would become Umdalli. Lonely in his immensity, he wept tears of such volume that they formed the first oceans, and from his own essence—drawing blood from his veins and breath from his lungs—he sculpted his children, each giant a reflection of his power yet uniquely suited to their purpose. Unlike the tyrants and despots of other pantheons, Umdas discovered that his greatest strength came not from demanding obedience but from witnessing his progeny flourish in their own pursuits, and so he established a covenant: that each giant would be free to chase their deepest desires, for their happiness and fulfillment became the very thunder that echoed through his realm. The other gods watched with bewilderment as Umdas's influence grew not through conquest but through genuine love, and they whispered that perhaps true dominion came not from the iron fist but from the open palm. Yet this benevolence masks a deeper truth—Umdas remains utterly indifferent to the suffering of lesser races, viewing them as the insects that swarm beneath his feet, and should any giant child be threatened, his wrath becomes a cataclysm that reshapes landscapes and erases civilizations from memory. In the Land of Thunder, Umdas walks among his people as both father and force of nature, a being of perfect balance between nurturing pride and terrible, unquestionable power.
