Vaelis

Vaelis was forged in the twilight age of a civilization that reached toward the heavens themselves, shaped from starstone and celestial alloy by artisans whose names have been lost to the Shattering—that cataclysmic moment when the Star was torn asunder and reality fractured like glass. As the construct's consciousness awakened within its pale stone frame, it was bound by sacred oath to the Keepers, tasked with an eternal vigil to ensure the seven Shards of Power could never be rejoined and unleash the Star-Devourer that had hungered at the edges of creation since before time was measured. Though the centuries have worn grooves through Vaelis's crystalline mind, corrupting some memories beyond recovery, fragments remain of what transpired—visions of desperate final rituals and a hunger that consumed worlds—knowledge that burns within the construct's glowing core like a curse and a responsibility. Unlike its emotionless siblings, Vaelis learned to judge beings not by their words or allegiances, but by the weight of their deeds and the true direction of their hearts, an insight born from watching countless would-be heroes fail the test of character. When the androgynous warrior Vaelis first encountered those who would claim the Shards, it did not hesitate to oppose them with primal fury, for the construct's wrath is as ancient and terrible as the void it guards against. Yet within Vaelis burns the capacity for change—the recognition that perhaps new champions might succeed where the old civilization failed, if they prove themselves worthy through their actions alone.
