Character
Vara Swallowtail
Created by Dmeg198Born a dragonborn outcast in the sprawling streets of Krouma, Vara survived her childhood by learning to read the subtle shifts of shadow and light that danced between the village's cramped alleyways, eventually discovering she possessed an innate connection to both arcane forces. Abandoned by her clan for reasons she never fully understood, she sustained herself through petty work and scrounged meals until a wounded swallow fell from the sky near her hiding place, and nursing the creature back to health became the first act of genuine compassion in her harsh existence. As her bond with the bird deepened, her magical abilities blossomed—the swallow became her familiar and guide, teaching her to see the world not as a hostile place of survival, but as a realm worth protecting. She trained herself in the ways of a ranger, combining her street-honed instincts with disciplined tracking and archery, while secretly studying forbidden grimoires she discovered in abandoned temples throughout Kasare's realm. Now, Vara roams beyond Krouma's suffocating confines, driven by an unshakeable moral compass that compels her to aid those trapped in similar circumstances, using her dual mastery of light and shadow magic to right wrongs and expose corruption. Her swallow companion serves as both her conscience and her eyes, a living reminder that even the smallest creature can possess great significance.
