Biography
Velara was the first of her order to voluntarily undergo the Ritual of Binding, believing that by willingly consuming fel corruption, she could understand and ultimately purify it from within—a heresy her superiors tolerated only because her conviction was absolute. For three years, the ritual worked; she became a living crucible, transmuting demonic essence into holy power that healed wounds no priest could mend. But on the night the Burning Legion's invasion reached her temple, she discovered the terrible truth: the corruption had been slowly rewriting her will, and when the moment came to choose between saving her sisters or fulfilling a demonic compulsion, she found herself frozen, watching as green flame consumed them all. The shattered horn—cracked when she finally broke free of the possession's grasp—became her penance, a permanent reminder that faith alone cannot overcome the weight of such a choice. Now she walks a razor's edge between two truths: the demon in her blood whispers temptations she no longer entirely resists, while the fractured remnants of her oath demand she wield that darkness as a weapon against greater evils. She refuses to hide what she is, forcing herself to meet the world with both burning eyes—one that sees corruption's seductive beauty, the other that remembers the screams of those she could not save—knowing that her greatest strength lies not in choosing between light and shadow, but in embracing the terrible power that comes from being broken in just the right way.
