This spectral card materializes only for those who have crossed into the Borderlands, a realm existing between life and death. The 3 of Diamonds represents a grueling trial of endurance and physical fortitude known as the Human Elevator, wherein participants must maintain an iron grip upon a mystical metal bar as it ascends into the heavens for a distance of one hundred stories. The bar then reverses its course and descends back toward the earth below, testing not only the strength of the challenger's hands and arms but also their mental resolve and will to survive. Any contestant who loses their grasp at any point during this harrowing journey will plummet to their doom, their fate sealed by gravity and their own failure. Those rare few who successfully maintain their hold throughout the entire ascent and descent are rewarded with possession of this card, bringing them one step closer to either escaping the Borderlands or claiming dominion over its shadowed domain. Collecting all fifty-four cards grants the bearer the power to break free from this cursed realm or to become its eternal sovereign.
