This spectral playing card manifests only to those who have crossed into the Borderlands, a shadowy realm existing between life and death. The bearer of this card must engage in a game of wits known as "Two of a Kind," wherein they face two seemingly identical figures and must discern through observation alone which one maintains a psychic connection to the other. Success requires keen insight and careful study of subtle differences in appearance, bearing, and demeanor. The game consists of five consecutive rounds, with each correct identification allowing the player to advance further toward their ultimate goal: escape from the Borderlands or ascension to its throne. Those who answer incorrectly face a terrible consequence, as caustic green acid is unleashed upon them as punishment for their failure. Possession of all 54 cards—the full deck including this seven—grants the bearer dominion over the Borderlands or safe passage back to the mortal world, should they prove clever enough to survive the trials.
