Dragon's Egg

This magnificent egg stands nearly as tall as a grown man, its surface covered in lustrous shell that catches the light with an ethereal shimmer. Within the shell, a soft luminescence pulses gently, as if some great heart beats within, casting dancing shadows across the hay upon which it rests. The egg was discovered deep within the primordial Thornwood Forest by the young Emory Horstman, who carefully transported it to a secure stable to protect it from the elements and prying eyes. The golden shell is warm to the touch, radiating a gentle heat that suggests life stirs within, and occasionally faint rumbling sounds emanate from its depths. # Garrett "What are you doing with that, boy?" Emory "It's a dragon's egg, Uncle. I couldn't just leave it sitting in the forest." Garrett paces in and out of the stable. "Having this will get us both killed, Emory. We have to get rid of it especially before it hatches." Emory frowns puzzled. "It's just an egg. I...." Garrett scowls. "Your parents were killed because of dragons, Emory. If someone finds out that a dragon's egg is here both it and us will be done for. The people in power will never let another dragon be born." Emory scowls. "Because of their fear of dragons my Mom and Dad were killed. But they were just scholars not criminals." Emory has tears in his eyes and his jaw clenches. "I don't care. I'm going to make sure that this dragon is hatched." Garrett looks steadily at Emory for a few minutes and then nods his head. "Okay. Then you will need some help." #
