The Codex Of Echoes
This iron-bound tome, no larger than a human hand, is crafted from twilight-wood and radiates an air of ancient wisdom. Its pages remain blank in ordinary light, revealing their secrets only when exposed to starlight or read within the Archive Tree. When properly opened, the pages fill with living memories belonging to every steward who has guarded this tome throughout the ages. The codex serves as a repository of forgotten knowledge, containing lost spells, ancient maps, and the true names of long-vanished threats. Once per day, the reader may borrow a single memory or cantrip from within and cast it as if they had known it their entire life. The codex is fiercely protective of its contents and will not suffer unauthorized access—any creature other than its rightful keeper who attempts to read it hears only an accusing chorus of elven voices. These phantom voices grow louder and more threatening the longer the intruder persists in their efforts. The tome bonds deeply with its chosen steward, growing more powerful and responsive with each passing year of faithful service.
