This tome, bound in deep forest leather and embossed with its title in silver leaf, chronicles the tumultuous era following the vampire tyrant Moriah Morrigan's defeat. The narrative weaves together the fractured city of Rosiskar, now torn asunder by civil conflict between its hybrid inhabitants the Wulfaz and the Dimidium against the ruthless human faction known as the Dawn of Rosiskar and it's unofficial sister order the Pure Dawn whose persecution campaigns threaten to consume all non-human life. When the city of Rosiskar was freed from Moriah Morrigan's grip, Vasariah returned to help rebuild the broken city as an advocate for the supernatural residents that remained however with years of misdirected hatred and distrust towards her and the other residents who wish to live peacefully with humans has made her bitter, now she understands that her father's cruelty and manipulation of her life growing up wasn't malice but to train her for this moment when no matter what sacrifices she has endured or the heroic deeds she completes in the name of the greater good, humans will only turn on her because she is not one of them, she hates that her father Ravidel is correct and has been all along and the Dawn of Rosiskar only further proving her father's warnings. Within its pages, the reader discovers distraught Cervantes's desperate quest through the chaos to locate his children Filius and Olivia while coping with the loss of his wife the Queen and the kingdom he called home. Outside of the outskirts of Rosiskar at the Evening Sands, a beautiful coastal ridge filled with black sand and smaller native dragons, there the fateful encounter of the last pure breed vampire Ravidel discovers the grief stricken archangel Chronos who bears grim tidings of the angelic forces' fall into darkness, lashing out at the roaming demons and humans alike with reckless abandonment. At Pandora's tower, Pertidus now possessed by Lucifer using her to escape the Nebula Rift reveals the sinister machinations to Pandora, whose betrayal of the Circle of Thorns to Moriah's forces before her fall has yielded a horrifying reward—the remains of the Ouroboros—from which she births the Grey Scales through profane rituals that bind demonic essence to tortured prisoners. Years after the end of the War of Night, the Monastery of Endless Waltz fell into a quiet existence with only a few monks walking the halls and practicing the teachings, with the destruction of the King's Stand there no longer was a steady stream on troops learning the techniques then with the residents of the island trying to recover from the wars while being plagued by harsh winters and droughts caused the Monastery to become a afterthought. Veronica Brides who assisted in convincing Bloody Eden to join the war of night stands amidst the Concrete courtyard under the mountain views as guilt embraces her, the blood witches all perished and although the war is over, in her heart she felt responsible for their deaths now with the Monastery empty once again she is left with no distractions aside from the occasional stray angel or demon seeking blood or a human in need of a bed. With the wars over the sea around the island has become more manageable by seafarers and the Queen's Galleon the Reverance has returned from their peace campaign unaware of the fate of their kingdom of King's Stand and the royal family, Captain Kovda Thoss becoming more concerned with the possibility that they may have lost the war of night. Instead they are greeted with the graveyard crater still smouldering where King's Stand once stood proud, now they drift near the island unsure what their next step should be as everything they knew on the island has been reduced to ash, the war is over but there was no victor.
