This fist-sized relic, wrought from an ancient iron alloy impervious to decay and corrosion, takes the form of a fearsome creature's gaping maw frozen mid-snarl. Its blunt, jagged teeth perpetually shift and realign whenever arcane energies manifest in its vicinity, as though the artifact itself hungers for magical forces. When activated by a wielder attuned to its dark purpose, the Iron Maw's jaw unhinge and draws in hostile enchantments and spellcraft, imprisoning fragments of that magical power within its hollow interior. The absorbed arcane energy swirls within the relic's core, creating an eerie luminescence visible through hairline fractures in the metal. By channeling their will through the artifact, a bearer may release this accumulated power in a devastating surge of raw arcane force, unleashing it upon their enemies in a violent, uncontrolled pulse. The Maw then settles back into dormancy, its teeth gradually stilling as it awaits the next opportunity to feed on magic.
