The Rift-Engine
The Rift-Engine is a sentient and unstable artifact, a void-tech conduit that serves as the core of the Shatterspike Breach. Discovered or possibly built by the enigmatic Velthros, this enigmatic device is alive in a way only things born in fractured time can be. It may even be a fragment of a destroyed god or an aborted reality, encased in void crystal and lashed with quantum binding chains. Velthros has harnessed the Engine's power to tear open portals between worlds, though each opening drains energy from the Shatterspike Breach, further destabilizing the frozen time of that region. His ultimate goal is to fully harness the power of the Fracture Brand and Suspended Crucible to merge multiple fractured timelines into a Unified Rift-State - a singular, flowing super-realm under his command. However, this represents a cataclysmic threat, as the balance the Iron Seer maintains across realities will unravel entirely, plunging the Myriad Worlds into chaos or worse, fusion.
