Forged from the cosmic essence of the Phoenixgrim—a legendary entity dwelling beyond mortal realms—the pendant grants its wearer immunity to death by any means save the passage of time itself. When the wearer would suffer a fatal blow, brilliant purple flames erupt around them, mending wounds instantaneously but accelerating their aging and unleashing destructive fire upon all nearby creatures. Each use of this life-saving power drains years from the wearer's natural lifespan, trading their mortality for temporary salvation. The pendant's curse runs deeper still: it inexplicably draws the wearer toward danger and calamity, creating an endless cycle of near-death experiences that demand the pendant's intervention. As the wearer's vitality gradually withers away, they face an agonizing choice between removing the cursed item and severing themselves from its terrible power, or surrendering to its seductive promise of eternal existence. Removing the pendant proves extraordinarily difficult, for it has a will of its own and fights against those who would be free of it. Once worn, the pendant binds itself to its bearer, making it nearly impossible to discard without supernatural aid or extraordinary force of will.
