The Yamatai have ruled the Tōhoku territories since antiquity when many barbarians tribes fought for dominance,until the Great Unification by the Yamatai tribe. The golden moon in their banner represents an ancient goddess of war of the barbarians,a sacred simbol very well known in northern japan. The Yamatai command vast provinces under the Eastern Shogunate's authority and remain steadfast allies to the Earthly Shogun Orochi. The clan's fearsome reputation stems from its composition of numerous violent warbands whose fierce independence has historically sparked internal strife, though the latest daimyō, Yashamaru, has managed to consolidate their chaotic nature into disciplined martial force. A dark curse runs through Yamatai bloodlines, tracing back to the failure of the 4 clans coalition against Orochi that ended with the Cabal of the Crimson Blood—condemned to a neverending hunger,the Yamatai who succumb to starvation or consume human flesh lose themselves entirely to ravenous, cannibalistic madness. The clan maintains an unbreakable bond with their neighboring Murakami of Sagami, bound by mutual defense since ancient times,often providing Yamatai Daimyōs equipment to resist the curse,in change for their military might to offset the Murakami's lack of military manpower. Their army is the most violent of the Eastern Shogunal Army and often acts as the vanguard troops that pave the way for the main strike force.
