The Layer of Pride stands as one of the most architecturally magnificent yet paradoxically declining realms within the seven infernal territories of Imeria. The demons inhabiting this domain are characterized by their overwhelming arrogance and self-aggrandizement, traits that have ironically led to their gradual extinction as their endless conflicts over superiority and dominance consume their numbers. The landscape itself reflects the vanity of its inhabitants, featuring towering obsidian spires, gilded monuments, and vast halls adorned with mirrors and precious stones that endlessly reflect the pride of those who walk among them. At the northern reaches of this realm stands the resplendent Palace of Lucifer, the Archdemon of Pride, a structure of impossible grandeur that serves as the seat of power and a monument to ego itself. Throughout the ages, the demon population has dwindled noticeably as their ceaseless struggles for supremacy and recognition have depleted their ranks, though their decline remains slower than that of their slothful counterparts. The realm is dotted with battlefields and ruins where proud demons have clashed in contests of honor and dominion, each seeking to prove their superiority over rivals. Despite their diminishing numbers, the remaining demons continue their endless pursuit of perfection and dominance, refusing to acknowledge or adapt to their waning influence. The Layer of Pride remains a testament to how excessive self-regard and refusal to change can lead even the mightiest to their own downfall.
