Eastern European Theatre

Created by Bonix

The Eastern European Battlefront represents the scarred remnants of a once-thriving region, now transformed into a grinding theater of war following the catastrophic Great Invasion of the Blighted Vanguard. This contested territory has become the focal point of a brutal stalemate between the Rhineland United Front and the forces of Zauli, with neither side able to achieve decisive victory despite years of relentless combat. the Final objective of the United Front lies deep within enemy territory, the Urals Fortress serves as Zauli's primary stronghold and supply hub, and its destruction remains the holy grail objective for the Rhineland forces, as it would crack open the path to Zauli's homeland and potentially end the war. Between these major strongholds lies the Balkan no man's land, a lawless region that has become a haven for hardened mercenaries and veteran war bands who exploit the chaos for their own gain, making travel through this zone extraordinarily perilous. The few settlements that remain in this shattered region survive through cunning and fortification, their populations caught between the grinding armies and the predatory bands that hunt the wastelands.

Landmarks

The Sunken Command Bunker

A partially collapsed underground military command center buried beneath layers of rubble and artillery debris. The reinforced concrete structure sinks at least thirty feet into the scarred earth, its entrance obscured by twisted metal framework and collapsed sandbag fortifications. Inside, adventurers can discover abandoned war maps, encrypted communication logs, and the skeletal remains of soldiers from both factions. The bunker's lower levels remain flooded with contaminated water, and rumors suggest it contains intelligence about secret supply routes or hidden weapons caches that could shift the balance of the stalemate. The structure groans ominously, suggesting structural instability from repeated bombardment.

The Shattered Relay Station

A half-buried communications tower complex situated in a crater-scarred valley between the Rhineland and Urals fortresses. Once a critical signal relay point for coordinating troop movements, it now stands as a twisted monument to the war's brutality—its steel framework bent at grotesque angles, its underground bunker system partially collapsed and flooded. The station's vault still contains encrypted military records and functional (though damaged) communication equipment that could provide intelligence on enemy positions, supply routes, or hidden command centers. However, the site is heavily trapped with unexploded ordnance, patrolled by scavenger bands seeking salvage, and rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of the soldiers who died defending it during the initial invasion.
