Ekim Farm (Aftermath)

Created by Notwen Ekim

Ekim Farm (Aftermath) is a once-thriving agricultural settlement in the region of Hyperion, now reduced to a desolate ruin. The Ekim family, whose origins are lost to time, established their modest farm generations ago in the nearby town of Aster Grove, cultivating apples, pumpkins, and tending to a small herd of livestock. As taxes and oppression increased in the land, the Ekim family, like many others, struggled to maintain their simple way of life. Agrin Ekim, the eldest son, eventually lashed out against the tax collectors, leading to a tragic confrontation that resulted in the death of a Red Gaurd. Fearful of vengeance, the Ekim family sent Agrin and his sister Mira to the Riverbend Fort in hopes of redemption. But before they could make it, tragedy struck again. Fearful of a growing uprise, Sir Henry Leviathan, leader of the Red Gaurd, ordered the capture of Agrin to be executed after trial. When the Red Gaurd arrived, there was no trace of Agrin. Beleiving they were hiding him, the Red Gaurd became hostile, leading to the destruction of the Ekim farm and the murder of the beloved family. Word of what had happened quickly reached Agrin and Mira as they traveled. They quickly returned home and found the dismay. In fear of further potential retaliation, they were shunned by their fellow citizens. With no other choice, the siblings took refuge in the Hyperion Forest, where they formed the notorious Bloody Banshees, a group of outlaws driven by their desire for vengeance against the tyranical rule. Today, the Ekim Farm stands as a haunting reminder of the consequences of oppression and the sacrifices made in the name of freedom. The once-thriving agricultural hub now lies in ruins, a testament to the fragility of life and the enduring spirit of those who dare to defy the forces that seek to control them.

Landmarks

Agrin's Memorial

Amidst the overgrown fields and crumbling ruins of the Ekim farmstead, a small, weathered gravestone stands as a somber reminder of the tragedy that befell this once prosperous family. The simple marker bears the name 'Agrin Ekim' and a brief epitaph, commemorating the eldest son whose act of defiance against the oppressive regime ultimately led to the downfall of the Ekim legacy. Adventurers who stumble upon this humble memorial may find themselves reflecting on the cost of standing up against injustice, and the lasting impact that even a single life can have on the course of history.

Ekim Family Crypt

Tucked away in a secluded corner of the overgrown fields, the Ekim family crypt stands as a somber reminder of the tragedy that befell this once thriving farm. The crumbling stone structure is partially obscured by tangled vines and weeds, its entrance sealed by a heavy iron door. Adventurers who manage to pry it open will find a dark, damp chamber within, the final resting place of Agrin and Mira's parents. The air is thick with the scent of decay, and the walls are adorned with faded murals depicting the Ekim family's history. A sense of melancholy and unease permeates the crypt, hinting at the sorrow and injustice that led to its creation.
