Sunhigh Castle

Created by JRod33

Perched atop the windswept highlands of the eastern realm, Sunhigh Castle stands as a gleaming testament to centuries of aristocratic power and ambition. Originally constructed by the legendary Kalith Sunhigh during the Age of Ascendancy, the castle's distinctive white stone towers catch and reflect the sunlight in a manner that gave the stronghold its enduring name. Today, it serves as the primary residence and seat of authority for Augusta Sunhigh, whose shrewd political maneuvering has transformed the castle into a hub of regional influence and intrigue. The sprawling complex features magnificent courtyards adorned with fountains, extensive libraries housing ancient texts, and grand halls where nobles regularly gather to conduct matters of state and commerce. The castle's strategic location affords commanding views of the surrounding valleys and trade routes, which the Sunhigh family has leveraged to maintain their wealth and prominence across generations. Recent renovations have modernized portions of the castle while preserving its historical character, and the current occupants maintain a substantial retinue of skilled craftspeople, merchants, and advisors within its walls. The surrounding grounds showcase manicured gardens interspersed with older groves of ancient trees that have witnessed the castle's entire storied past. Visiting dignitaries, ambitious courtiers, and those seeking favor regularly traverse Sunhigh Castle's halls, making it a center of constant activity and shifting political alliances.
