This sprawling nexus of settlements, trading posts, and military encampments has never maintained stability for more than a generation before collapsing into violent conflict, a cycle that repeats with grim inevitability. The region's strategic position makes it irresistible to ambitious powers—countless nations and warlords have clashed here, each believing they could be the ones to finally conquer and hold the territory. Battlefields scar the landscape in overlapping layers, their bones enriching soil that refuses to remain peaceful for long. Currently, the Collective finds itself under siege by converging military forces, with multiple factions tightening their grip simultaneously, turning the already volatile region into a pressure cooker of desperation and violence. Supply lines have been cut, and the few remaining neutral trading posts operate in shadow, their services available only to those willing to pay exorbitant prices or risk their lives.
