Spell

Meh! Good Enough...

Created by JackCarrot

Meh! Good Enough... is a spell that embodies a sense of resigned acceptance and modest ambition. When cast, it conjures a magical effect that is competent but uninspired, capable of addressing a wide range of situations with a shrug and a "that'll do." The spell's power manifests as a dull glow that envelops the target, imbuing it with a basic functionality that gets the job done, but without any flair or excitement. Whether you need to repair a broken item, create a modest illusion, or even provide a modest healing effect, Meh! Good Enough... can handle the task. However, the results are never truly remarkable, merely adequate. The spell's magic is like a lukewarm bath, soothing but forgettable.

Effects

Choose one of the following effects: repair a broken item of up to 10 hit points, create a simple illusion that lasts for the duration, or heal a creature for 1d4 hit points. The results are competent but lack any remarkable quality. Players may come up with other effects to suit any given situation - the results are always somewhat effective but profoundly underwhelming. DM has the final say on specific effects and game mechanics, which will be in the same ball park as the effects previously described. Meh! Good enough... cannot replicate the effects of any other spell or magic item exactly but can give a superficial approximation of the appearance of said spell or effect. There will always be signs that such a spell is not the real thing - a fake fireball doesn't burn or ignite anything and disappears with the sound of a rapidly deflating balloon. A fake resurrection spell may make a corpse appear to be alive but sleeping and unrousable. In all cases the result will be not very convincing (any onlookers make a DC 15 Wisdom check to realise it is fake). The spell can therefore be used to trick the undiscerning of certain spells or effects.
