Celestial Axe

This magnificent halberd bears intricate solar engravings along its haft and blade, glowing faintly with divine warmth. The weapon was first awakened during the Siege of Ashenmarch, when a paladin of the Sun God spoke the ritual words of binding while holding the halberd aloft at dawn. The awakening required the wielder to recite an oath of valor in Celestial, then plunge the blade into the heart of a fallen celestial being to anchor its essence. Once activated, the halberd crackles with smoldering energy, and each time it pierces or cleaves through plate armor, it erupts in a shower of cinders and divine flame. Legends tell that the Celestial Axe first tasted battle when a lone warrior stood against an infernal host, and with each strike against the armored demons, the weapon burned brighter and hotter. The blade has since been passed through generations of champions, its core burning eternally with the memory of that righteous stand. Warriors claim that the halberd grows warmer when wielded by those of pure intent, and ice-cold when grasped by those with malice in their hearts. Its power can only be fully realized by those who have proven themselves worthy through deeds of selfless courage.
