Whisperfang Staff Of The Archive

Created by Bobbyx

This slender staff of living twilight-wood harvested from the Archive Tree itself is topped with a fractured crystal that once held a fragment of Elxse Paradise's light. The wood is etched with ever-shifting runes that glow faintly when secrets are spoken nearby, responding to truths and deceptions alike. In combat, it functions as both a magical focus and a weapon, capable of striking with ethereal force that bypasses mundane armor and protective enchantments. The wielder can channel stored lore-magic into precise, cutting arcs of starlight that deal radiant damage to those struck by its power. When planted firmly into the ground and spoken to with a true name or forgotten truth, the staff can briefly silence an area, suppressing all sound and magical communication within its radius. This same ritual can force a hidden memory or suppressed truth to surface in an enemy's mind, potentially stunning or confusing them in the process. The staff requires attunement by a spellcaster and grants advantage on Intelligence checks made to recall forgotten knowledge or uncover hidden truths. Once per day, the wielder can use the staff to cast a divination spell without expending a spell slot, drawing upon the accumulated lore stored within its crystalline heart.

When planted and a true name or forgotten truth is spoken, the staff creates a 20-foot radius of silence for 1 minute, suppressing all sound and magical communication.

Memory Unveiling

As part of the same action, the wielder can force a hidden memory to surface in an enemy's mind. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Intelligence saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn.

Once per day, the wielder can cast a divination spell without expending a spell slot, drawing upon the accumulated lore stored within the staff's crystalline heart.
