Biography

When the white wyrm Argylle descended upon the roaming tribe of Olden in a tempest of frost and flame, Jarl Uldar perished alongside his bloodline, leaving his Shield-Brother Arne to shepherd the shattered remnants of their people through an unforgiving wilderness. For months, Arne led the survivors across endless snow and howling winds toward the distant sanctuary of Winter's End, but each passing day brought new horrors as hunger gnawed at their dwindling supplies and the injured fell behind with every step. Faced with an impossible choice—watch everyone starve or cull the wounded and elderly to preserve the tribe's future—Arne made the terrible decision that would define his reign, and those deemed a burden accepted their fate with grim dignity, walking willingly into the blizzard so their children might live. When the survivors finally stumbled into Winter's End as the cold and darkness closed around them, the tribe's assembly recognized that Arne possessed the one quality their people valued above all others: the strength to make decisions that would haunt him forever and the resolve to bear that weight alone. Though he was neither the strongest warrior nor the wisest counselor, Arne Greywind was chosen as Jarl because his people understood that true leadership demanded not brilliance, but the willingness to sacrifice everything—including one's own humanity—for those who depended upon him.
