Biography
Born during a blizzard so fierce that her mother claimed the Goddess Magada herself pulled the child into the world, Ingrid Onerous grew up hearing whispers in the howling wind that others could not perceive. As a young woman, she began experiencing visions of the future—glimpses of game herds migrating through hidden valleys, warnings of avalanches before the snow fell, and insights into the spiritual currents that flowed beneath the frozen earth. Her gift made her invaluable to the tribe, and when the previous Jarl fell to sickness, the elders unanimously chose Ingrid to lead, believing her communion with the divine made her the rightful voice of their people. Yet on the night of her coronation, a mysterious affliction robbed her of her physical sight, leaving her blind but somehow deepening her connection to the realm beyond the material world. Rather than despair, Ingrid embraced this curse as a blessing, claiming that Magada had stripped away mortal vision so she might see the threads of fate more clearly. Her decisions grew bolder and more intuitive, leading the Onerous Tribe to unprecedented prosperity and safety, though whispers of madness followed her like shadows—whispers she ignored with the serene confidence of one who hears the gods' counsel more clearly than any mortal voice. Today, the frail Jarl Ingrid Onerous is carried by the strongest of her tribe with her sightless eyes reflecting the light of truths that only the faithful can comprehend.
