These venerable golden rings serve as the ultimate symbol of authority within the Dwarven kingdoms of the Tolgoth Mountains, worn exclusively by the Thanes who rule the great cities and citadels as sovereigns of their respective clans. Forged in the ancient past by the legendary First Stone King Cinder Redbeard, these heirlooms were bestowed upon the most distinguished generals and warriors who proved their valor during the devastating War Against the Commonwealth, establishing the tradition of hereditary rule that endures to this day. Each ring bears an intricate clan sigil—from the fiery visage of Redbeard to the smoking volcanic peak of Blackstone—meticulously engraved into the precious metal as a testament to bloodline and legacy. While lesser copies are worn by other family members throughout the clan, the original ring remains the exclusive possession of the current Thane, marking them as the true head and voice of their people.
