Presence Search

Created by Bobbyx

This divination spell allows you to attune your senses to the vital essence that animates all living creatures within a considerable radius. You become aware of the presence of each living being nearby, gaining intuitive knowledge of their approximate locations and a general sense of their relative power compared to your own. The spell pierces through mundane obstructions and can detect even those concealed by invisibility or other means of hiding, revealing their presence as clearly as if they stood before you. However, the spell's effectiveness diminishes against undead creatures, which emit only a faint echo of life force that may be difficult to distinguish from true living beings. Similarly, magically-constructed beings prove resistant to detection, their artificial nature creating a void in your perception. A significant disparity in power between you and a target can also obscure your ability to sense them accurately, as overwhelming or negligible life forces may escape your notice. This spell proves invaluable for reconnaissance, allowing you to assess the number and threat level of potential allies or adversaries in your vicinity.
