Nuvaru is a realm that was once dominated by the fae monarchy until Vexala, the Dark Fae, waged a devastating war across multiple realms, tearing Nuvaru apart. This conflict, known as the Darkest War, has left Nuvaru divided into Kingdoms of men, Elves, and an equine species called Kilimiduns, as well as the remnants of the fae monarchy. In the darker corners of Nuvaru, Vexala's followers, including the Dark Fae and those who have embraced Vexala's teachings, wait patiently for the day when they can free Vexala from the Void realm, where he was imprisoned by the fae sentinels. Nearly 1500 years have passed, and while Nuvaru has healed and the fae monarchy has been restored, the corruption still lingers in some parts, and the fae sentinels remain vigilant, determined to ensure that Vexala can never be freed, for if that were to happen, darkness would once again consume the beautiful realm of Nuvaru.

Malwork Wood stands as one of the most pristine and enigmatic forests in all of Nuvaru, renowned throughout the realm for harboring the magnificent Malwork Buck, a cervine creature of legendary rarity whose sightings are considered omens of great fortune. The forest's dense canopy and winding streams have remained largely untouched by civilization for centuries, creating an ecosystem of remarkable biodiversity and untamed beauty. The indigenous Kohashians have called these woods home for generations, developing a sophisticated culture deeply intertwined with the rhythms of nature and the protection of their ancestral lands. Often mistaken for wild elves due to their woodland expertise and natural affinity with the forest, the Kohashians are in fact a fiercely independent people bound together by strong communal values and an unwavering commitment to preserving their territory. Their society operates through a complex network of forest settlements connected by hidden pathways known only to those born within Malwork Wood's borders. The Kohashians have earned a formidable reputation as fierce defenders, having repelled numerous attempts by foreign powers to exploit the forest's resources or claim dominion over its lands. Ancient stone monuments and ceremonial grounds scattered throughout the woodland attest to their rich spiritual heritage and long occupation of the region. Travelers who venture into Malwork Wood without proper respect or permission often find themselves hopelessly lost, whether through the forest's natural labyrinthine design or through the deliberate misdirection of its protective inhabitants.

The helm completely covers the face, yet the wearer can see, breathe, and hear perfectly.
